Awww cute pup.

On the breeding side - I hope you have discussed with his breeders the fact you plan to breed him and know what health tests you need to do and any genetic diseases his lines may carry. This is especially important if you want to do father to daughter down the track as something they carry is more likely to be passed on.

And if you have thought of these things, and know of all of this thats great. I'm involved in dog sports and training and seen way too many dogs out there with issues due to poor breeding and would hate anyone to have to go through that.

Next Sunday there is an open day at Dogs SA, lots of fun things happening but also lots of breed clubs there. I know that there will be a lab stand, as well as quite a few obedience clubs.

Very true !

Labs need to be health tested for a few genetic problems (HD being one).. Unfortunately a lot of unregistered back yard breeders (who are only in it for the quick buck) don't do any of proper testing ! Anger

A big reason to do your research and buy from an ethical and registered breeder Smile

Saves a lot of hearbreak and financial problems down the track.

Hows Harold going?
We just bought another puppy. This time a black lab called Gregan. We pick him up in 9days. Cant wait. We more or less got him for company for our other lab so when we have kids she isn't put out as much.

Harold is going great. He has fit in really well with the other dogs.

I was trying to teach him to sit and stay last night.. He sits when he is told but will only stay for a lil bit before following you...i am also trying to teach him to come when he is called.
