to someone you've hurt? I've been thinking about a friend I had a falling out with and would very much like to say sorry and hopefully clear the air, but not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions?

Depends on your past relationship, you could get a card thinking of you or similar and write what you are thinking and say you would like to rekindle the friendship with all your contact details. It will give her time to think about it and respond. A phone call might put her on the spot abit and its a bit more personal than an email
