Hi all, my H2B and I are planning our honeymoon (we are leaving it a little last minute) to phuket for 8 nights and bangkok for 4 nights and would any advice or tips regarding interesting places to see which tour companies to recommend (nor not) and things/ places to avoid. I was also wondering what your thoughts are towards booking tours through travel agents in Australia or whether to book them when we arrive in thailand. Any tips would be appreciated!! _________________ http://babiessa.com/

How exciting xtc4uqt! I would definitely recommend a tour to Phi Phi Island, it's amazing! James Bond Island is quite popular too, but I haven't been. I'm not sure if you spend much time there or if you just sail past on the speedboat? You may be interested in visiting Fantasea, I say it's a cross between Magic Mountain and Disneyland. Hahaha! Patong is great for shopping and nightlife. We stayed in Karon Beach (20 mins by tuk tuk from Patong) and there's a restaurant called Dino Park and they have a baby elephant out the front you can feed. So cute! We also did an Elephant Trek which was fun! I haven't been to Bangkok, so no suggestions I'm sorry!
We booked everything in Australia and I think it made things so much easier. We just woke up, waited in the hotel lobby and the bus came to pick us up. No hassles! I think if you book it now, you won't have to run around and you can spend more time enjoying yourselves. Although I'm sure your hotel would be able to assist you anyway. You'll find there isn't that much difference in price. JMO though!
Have fun planning all the details! You're going to love it! _________________ ♥ 7th November 2009 ♥

When I went to Phuket I just booked everything once I got there. You can basically book and go on it the next day.
I booked my Phi Phi Island trip from a guy on the beach and got it for $60 which included a speed boat ride, snorkel gear and lunch. We stopped off at another little Island on the way back and they had fruit and drink for us it was fantastic. We booked the elephant tour through him aswell. |

Hi! If you book in Australia, you will still get cheap (compared to here) tours and so on. We booked a three day tour for $300 and thought we did pretty well. The English chaps who were on there with us booked over there and paid $170. So there is quite a difference. And then you haggle.
It is not difficult to find tours over there, in fact it's difficult to AVOID people selling you tours.
Good luck, have fun! |
